As part of Brimsmore Gardens’ 25th anniversary celebrations, we ran a competition for schools and local community groups, inviting them to get in touch and apply for a gardening kit or to have a commemorative Silver Birch tree planted. Over the past couple of months, the selected schools and groups have been collecting their kits, while Karen and the team have been travelling around the local area planting the trees to mark our big birthday.

It’s been such a pleasure to hear about so many people doing inspiring things to get children outside and interacting with wildlife and growing. This is something which we are always looking to encourage, so we are delighted to be able to support this new wave of young gardeners.

We look forward to seeing how their efforts unfold!

Brimsmore Gardens begins its 25 year celebrations on Wednesday 1 March, with a Cake Cutting Ceremony attended by The Deputy Mayor of Yeovil, David Recardo. Everyone is invited to watch the ceremony, which starts at 10am, and are also welcome to enjoy a free slice of cake with every hot drink in The Apple Tree Restaurant throughout the day.

We are honoured that the Deputy Mayor of Yeovil will be attending to help us get our fortnight of festivities under way. This is a remarkable milestone to reach, and we are really looking forward to celebrating with our garden centre team, customers and the community.

There’s nothing quite like a cup of tea and homemade cake to banish those winter blues, so this February all three of our restaurants will be offering a free cup of loose leaf tea with any slice of carrot cake, Victoria or chocolate sponge. Once you have purchased all three, then you will be able to enjoy another free slice of cake and hot drink on us.

Pick up a loyalty card at The Apple Tree, The Engine Room or The Walled Garden and remember to ask the team to check it off each time you visit!
